Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for general accounting and clerical tasks related to processing accounts payable transactions. This position is suitable for entry level candidates exploring a career in accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes daily accounts payable transactions and data entry including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data in the accounting system
  • Processes outgoing payments in accordance with established procedures
  • Reconciles statements and troubleshoots discrepancies
  • Files processed invoices and vendor payments in the payables files
  • Receives and sorts incoming accounting mail
  • Performs department clerical duties such as scanning and filing
  • Assists with audits and special projects as requested

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • 1+ years previous Accounts Payable experience required in lieu of degree
  • Ability to work onsite in our Watsonville office
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish a plus
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and 10 key calculator proficiency required; experience with Adobe a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail with excellent follow through

Compensation and Benefits:

The target hiring range for this position is: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Compensation is based on a variety of relevant factors, including prior work experience, skills, professional qualifications, and internal pay equity.
