FSQA Compliance Coordinator Opening

SFI is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Compliance Coordinator to join our FSQA team. This role is responsible for managing documentation related to regulatory compliance and working with internal/external customers and suppliers to ensure food safety, quality, and regulatory is in compliance. This position is based onsite in our Watsonville headquarters. This is an excellent and unique opportunity to join our company and FSQA team in an entry-level capacity and grow into a more senior role over the next 3+ years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains regulatory documents in multiple internal databases, ensuring all data is on file, up-to-date, and compliant.
  • Collects, reviews, and approves documentation associated with new products, customer requirements, international supplier compliance, specifications, and artwork.
  • Reviews and updates nutritional database.
  • Interacts with customers and suppliers and responds to requests, including Certificate of Analysis (COA) and other quality-related documents.
  • Creates specifications for food products.
  • Assists in preparation for annual British Retail Consortium (BRC) food safety audit and manages associated tasks throughout the year.
  • Assists in creation of new department policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Assists in onsite audits at supplier production facilities nationally and internationally as a learning opportunity for increased FSQA responsibility and career growth.
  • Provides in-office representation for the FSQA team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Food Science or related science degree or 1 year previous FSQA experience
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or cloud storage experience a plus
  • Bilingual fluency a plus, particularly in Spanish or Mandarin
  • Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Highly detail oriented with strong numbers acumen, organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Problem solver with ability to exercise good judgment with minimal work direction
  • Proactive, collaborative, and self-driven with ability to work well independently or with a team
  • This position requires occasional travel (10%) domestically and internationally
  • This position is based onsite in our Watsonville offices

Compensation and Benefits:

The target hiring range for this position is: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. Compensation is based on a variety of relevant factors, including prior work experience, skills, professional qualifications, and internal pay equity.
